Wow! What a Summer! It is only August 2nd, and I feel like I have had a very full Summer :-) I have been running my children around like crazy to the pool, the mall, Rita's, their friends houses...You name it, they want to do it. I have been to Myrtle Beach for vacation with my family and also to see my step father, who I Love dearly. Last but not least, I had an amazing opportunity to go to Las Vegas Nevada for more in depth training with the Brazilian Keratin Treatment Simply Smooth. I of course was able to go out there a couple days early to have some fun and soak up some sun :-) I am so excited about that training, for a few reasons.

First of all, when I first began using Simply Smooth BKT (Brazilian Keratin Treatment) there were clients with different needs but only one formula. Well the developers of Simply Smooth BKT realized this as well, and did something about it. They developed several formulas to meet the different needs of the clients. Because not all hair is created equally, and not every client wants the same result from a BKT. I am so excited that they answered the needs of the clients who absolutely can not wait 4 whole days to wash their hair, they changed the original formula to just 3 days, which is much more reasonable :-) Then for the very busy women who feel that three days is too long, they developed two 24 hour formulas! Yes you can get a Keratin Treatment and actually only have to wait 24 hours to wash your hair! There are also mini Keratin Treatments which are for those who would like to have a sample of what a Brazilian Keratin Treatment is like for a fraction of the cost of a full treatment. These mini treatments can also be done immediately following a color or highlight service, to lock the color in and restore the hair to its optimum condition. Then for the clients who want their hair chemically straightened they have created a Japanese Straightener formula that neutralizes with a keratin treatment, so you get a relaxer to permanently straighten the hair, followed by a keratin treatment to make the hair soft and shiny and smooth.
I went to Las Vegas to learn all about the new formulas and to get certified to use them as well as to educate other salons regarding Simply Smooth products. In addition to learning about their new formulas, I was also informed and educated on their retail products that are different than any other I have seen. I am super excited about their humidity resistant hairspray, there is a pump, and an aerosol, they both resist the humidity. The aerosol is great because if you just use a little, it is a light hold hairspray, however if you reapply, it becomes a firm hold, so you only need one hairspray for many uses. The pump hairspray is great to spray on the hair just before curling it with an iron, it has memory and shine, so your curls will be shiny and soft, instead of sticky and hard. Again, they both resist the humidity really well :-) There is a spiral gel that is light weight and wonderful for curly hair, the shine spray with keratin in it. I have already been a believer of the finishing gloss, which helps seal the fly aways and add extra shine.
My favorite product I learned about in Vegas is the Magic Potion! Right on the bottle it tells you that "it fixes everything" LOL. I have to say, my last day in Vegas I had been swimming all weekend and i washed my hair in the sink of the bathroom at the pool, since I had already checked out. My hair air dried and sure enough, my bangs and highlights were so dry and distressed, when I got home I used the magic potion as you would a leave in conditioner, only then you blow dry your hair, and put a hot iron on it, either a flat or curling iron at 400 degrees, I just styled it, and BAM! My hair was silky and smooth and super soft all over again! This is a retail product that everyone can take home and do themselves. I LOVE IT! I believe all the retail products have keratin in them so they will be continually prolonging the treatments and adding to the health of your hair.
While I was in Las Vegas, I met one of the owners of Simply Smooth and their top educators. They gave us a sneak preview to their brand new color line that will be coming out in December 2010! Yes they are going to be the first color line to have keratin right in every tube of color! The colors will be double dye loads, or double pigmented, which means to the client, that the colors will be more vibrant, pure, and last longer. They do not fade ! They also will be infusing every color clients hair with a dose of keratin to compliment the treatments that we offer, which is all focused on making your hair as beautiful and strong as it can possibly be. The color is going to be new to salons everywhere, however they have been using them in test salons for three years already, and the results and reviews are AMAZING! I cannot wait to start using Pure Color this winter. So lots of exciting things going on here at Style Mosaic beauty salon.
