I would be curious what company you used when you did your Keratin Treatment. All Keratin is not created equally, some have formaldehyde in them and are harsh for the hair, some are made from Animal keratin, synthetic keratin, then there is Simply Smooth which is Formaldehyde free and made from human hair keratin. If you used a reputable company and quality keratin, there is still a risk to the hair, but it is NOT the keratin, it is the temperature of the flat iron that can ruin your hair. When doing a Keratin treatment on Highlighted or Blonde hair, you MUST turn the flat iron down, to a lower temperature such as 390-425 instead of the 450 used on more course hair. If your stylist forgot this important point, then that is why your hair ended up so distressed. Again I apologize for not seeing this comment before now.
